Etihad expands codeshare agreements with Garuda Indonesia

A new codeshare agreement has been signed between Etihad Airways and Garuda Indonesia that is nearly doubling the number of destinations the airlines serve.

Etihad says the new deal covers 42 destinations across the Indonesian archipelago, Southeast Asia, the Middle East, the USA, and Europe.

"This expansion will serve as a platform for what we envision will be a deep ongoing partnership between our two airlines," states group chief executive Antonoaldo Neves. "This reflects Etihad's continued drive for commercial sustainability and is part of our broader partnership strategy, which enables Etihad guests to access nearly 400 cities worldwide, in addition to Etihad's operating network."

Besides that, the two airlines have a memorandum of understanding to explore further collaborations, like cargo, maintenance, and pilot/crew training.
