Emirates Exercises Return Conditions On Another A380

Emirates has exercised an option to set the minimum maintenance condition for an Airbus A380 it leases from Doric Nimrod Air Two, the fund has disclosed.

The lease expiry date for the aircraft (MSN 109) is 9 November 2024.

Doric Nimrod Air Two says it has been notified by Emirates that the airline is exercising the option to redeliver the widebody in the minimum condition equivalent to "half-life" together with a cash sum, as opposed to in full-life condition.

In the event the aircraft is returned to the lessor, Emirates will pay the sum of $12 million, in addition to the normal monetary compensation arrangements, on or prior to the lease expiry date.

Doric Nimrod Air Two says it is not precluded from considering a lease extension, sale or re-lease options for the aircraft with Emirates or other counterparties.

In February, the Dubai-based carrier exercised similar options in relation to three other A380s (MSNs 105, 106 and 107) it leases from Doric Nimrod Air Two, having done the same for MSN 090 in April 2022.
