IndiGo and Turkish Airlines Expand Codeshare Partnership to Edinburgh

Indian low-cost carrier IndiGo has expanded its codeshare partnership with Turkish Airlines to include Edinburgh, Scotland. The new codeshare connection, which began on May 8, 2023, allows IndiGo passengers to book flights to Edinburgh via Istanbul on Turkish Airlines.

The codeshare partnership now covers 33 destinations across Europe, including Amsterdam, Athens, Barcelona, Berlin, Brussels, Budapest, Copenhagen, Dublin, Frankfurt, Geneva, Lisbon, London, Madrid, Milan, Munich, Paris, Prague, Rome, Sofia, and Vienna.

IndiGo is India's largest airline by market share, with a fleet of over 270 aircraft. Turkish Airlines is the national flag carrier of Turkey and one of the world's largest airlines, with a fleet of over 300 aircraft.

The expanded codeshare partnership between IndiGo and Turkish Airlines is a major boost for both airlines. It will allow IndiGo to offer its passengers more travel options to Europe, while Turkish Airlines will be able to tap into IndiGo's large customer base in India.

The codeshare partnership is also a sign of the growing importance of India as a travel market. India is the world's second-most populous country, with a population of over 1.3 billion people. The Indian economy is also growing rapidly, and the country is becoming a major source of outbound tourism.

The expanded codeshare partnership between IndiGo and Turkish Airlines is expected to boost travel between India and Europe. It is also expected to help both airlines grow their businesses in the years to come.
