MAG to use SAF from Petronas

Malaysia Aviation Group (MAG) Signs Offtake Agreement for Sustainable Aviation Fuel (SAF) with Petronas

MAG to use SAF from Petronas

Malaysia Aviation Group (MAG) and Petronas Dagangan (PDB) have signed an agreement to supply over 230,000 tonnes of sustainable aviation fuel (SAF) to MAG's airlines starting from 2027.

The SAF will be produced at Petronas' co-processing plant in Melaka and will be directly supplied to Kuala Lumpur International Airport. Initially, the fuel will be used for Malaysia Airlines flights and later for Firefly and MASwings.

This agreement builds upon the existing partnership between MAG and PDB, which began in 2021. The partnership aims to promote sustainability by exploring opportunities for the adoption of SAF at KLIA.

As a result of this collaboration, MAG's aviation companies have already operated 19 flights, both domestic and international, using SAF to power their cargo and passenger planes.
